Drug Law Definitions Passes House

Rep. Trisha Beck's Drug Law Definitions passed this afternoon in the House. The bill, H.B. 13, is one of the bills this session that attempts to curb prescription drug abuse.

This bill amends the Utah Controlled Substances Act, the Utah Medical Practice Act, the Pharmacy Practice Act, the Utah Osteopathic Medical Practice Act, and the Naturopathic Physician Practice Act to provide consistency in the use of definitions, including those for "prescribe," "prescription device," and "drug."

The bill passed the House with 64 yes votes and 0 no votes, and will now move on to the Senate.
