Salt Lake City – Former Representative Lynn Hemingway has been selected by the Democratic delegates of Utah House District 40 to replace Representative Justin Miller following Miller’s resignation. Hemingway was originally elected to represent House District 40 in 2006 and served until retiring in 2014.
House Democratic Leader Brian King said, “We welcome Lynn back into the caucus. He has been a stalwart member of the caucus who strongly represents House District 40 with every issue he takes on. Lynn will be a great representative and the caucus is glad to have him back.”
A letter designating the selection by the delegates will be sent to the Governor as an official recommendation for appointment. Following the Governor’s approval, Representative Hemingway will likely be appointed and sworn in early next week.
