TOMORROW End of Life Options Heard in Committee

Salt Lake City - TOMORROW, Representative Rebecca Chavez-Houck will present information and draft legislation regarding end of life options and medical aid in dying. Presenters will be heard in Health and Human Services Interim Committee beginning at 12:55 pm in Room 445 of the Capitol Building.

Representative Chavez-Houck stated, “This is an opportunity for Utah to be ahead. States across the country are reviewing the same data and proposing similar laws. Other states are tied up in the courts, allowing a single individual to determine what is best for all the citizens of their state. I want a bill that has the compromise and support of fellow legislators and the people of Utah. It is my goal to ensure and protect a patient’s right to determine how the end of their life will be lived.”
