District Attorney and Representative Vow to Protect Sex Abuse Prevention Education

Salt Lake City - District Attorney Sim Gill and Representative Angela Romero are working together to defeat a bill that changes requirements for sexual abuse education in Utah schools. The bill, H.B. 335 - Public Education Curriculum Amendments by Representative Keven Stratton, removes the opt-out option for parents and changes it to “prior written consent.”

Representative Romero stated, “It is imperative for the protection of each and every child that they know they have a safe space, that they are taught what is and is not okay. This seemingly small changes puts so many more children at risk.”
